Phlebotomy Training Programs Pennsylvania

The accredited Phlebotomy Certificate Program at Montgomery County Community College, Blue Bell, PA is a one semester program designed to give the student instruction in the field of Phlebotomy. Students are trained to competently and safely collect and handle blood specimens from a variety of patients, and help develop interpersonal skills needed to interact with others. The first ten  weeks of the semester is didactic and on-campus laboratory instruction after which the student is assigned to a clinic site to complete the course’s clinical experience requirement. During the last five  weeks of the semester, the student completes a minimum of 100 hours of off-campus clinical experience.

Special requirements at Montgomery County Community College, Blue Bell, PA  includes purchasing their own malpractice insurance and uniforms,  physical examination, documentation of selected vaccinations and urine drug screen within six months of entering the course, proof of Hepatitis B vaccination and a complete a criminal record check. Students must also attend a mandatory orientation session.
