The accredited Phlebotomy Certificate Program at Mid Michigan Community College, Harrison, MI consist of a total 81 classroom hours of lecture, activities, and simulated lab. Aside from 120 hours of supervised clinical training in a CLIA regulated, accredited laboratory, 51 hours is dedicated to classroom training, including anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system, specimen collection, specimen processing and handling while the remaining 30 hours is simulated laboratory, consisting of hands-on training in the skill of venipuncture, capillary and arterial puncture, swab and urine collection, bleeding time, simulated order entry, interpretation of test order, collection equipment, order of draw, safety techniques, patient identification procedures, and customer service standards.
The Phlebotomy Tech Program at Mid Michigan Community College, Harrison, MI is designed to help the student gain an understanding of the theory of laboratory procedures as well as a command of the skills necessary to perform accurately and efficiently in a business or hospital setting.
