The certificate of proficiency in phlebotomy program at Arkansas State University Mountain Home prepares students for the medical field through lecture as well as clinical opportunities. Students are encouraged to enter this program if pursuing any health program through the University though it is not required. Those looking to pursue this certificate will complete a total of 7 credit hours in the program. Admission is based on exam scores and students are required to provide documentation of up-to-date immunizations.
Any individual that applies to the phlebotomy program must submit to a drug test as well as a background check. Students may be eligible to take the American Society for Clinical Pathology’s phlebotomy exam upon completion of this course along with additional clinical work.
